After 5 years working at Pierson as Master G's administrative assistant, Betty describes Pierson as a "home away from home for all of us." Although she has worked in varying places at Yale for the past 30 years, Betty particularly loves Pierson because of the family it creates and the bonds it fosters for everyone within the college. She loves working with the students on special projects; one of her best Pierson memories is shopping for Halloween decorations with students in 2008. She also enjoys working with the masters aides, and looks forward to continuing to work with students on future projects through the Master's office. She lives in Chester, CT.

Sandra Atkins is originally from right here in New Haven, Connecticut. She has been working in Pierson for 23 years (this is her 24th), and is proud to say that for the whole time she’s been at Yale, she’s worked for Pierson. She is so devoted to Pierson that she doesn’t really have time for outside hobbies, though she likes to “hang out with my old ladies sometimes.” In the summer, she tries to travel as much as possible. Her favorite Pierson event to plan has been the Pierson Inferno, brought back to its full glory in 2008. For her, the best part about working in Pierson is the students. She loves the nice events we do, but the students are definitely the best part. The oldest student who she still keeps in touch with is 33, and she likes to say that she has an extended family of Pierson alumni.
The Master's Office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
