Pierson College has several rooms you can reserve for a group meeting, singing or other musical activity, etc. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with Pierson's policies before you reserve a room in Pierson.
What rooms are available for use?
- Pierson has three small music rooms, as well as a large music room, all equipped with pianos. The smaller rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no reservation necessary, and are unlocked 24/7. To reserve the large music room, please stop by the Pierson Master's Office.
- Seminar Room, located in the Pierson basement, Entryway F. To reserve the Seminar room, please stop by the Pierson Master's Office.
- Davenport/Pierson Theatre: Please stop by the Davenport Master's Office to reserve this room.
- Blair Room: Limited use, and by special permission from Pierson Administration only.
- Common Room/Frost Room: There are pianos available for use in these rooms, as well as space for group meetings, but please note that we do not reserve these spaces. You are at your own risk if another group/individual is in the room and wishes to remain there during your meeting/practice.
What policies do I need to know about?
- Please note that the only rooms where food and/or drink is allowed is the Seminar Room and you MUST clean up before locking up.
- When you come to the Master's Office to reserve a space, you will be asked to sign a form and sign out the key. You may only pick up the key the day of the event (Fridays for weekend events). Keys must be returned to the Master's Office by 10 a.m. the following business day.
- If you are reserving a room for a recurring meeting (i.e. Mondays at 6pm), you must pick up and return the key each week.
- The person signing out the key is responsible for making sure the room is left in the same condition it was in when the key was given out.
- Only Pierson students can reserve spaces in Pierson College (with the exception of the small and large music rooms which are also open to Davenport students)
