After graduating from Yale in 1975, Mr. Leitner earned a master’s degree in international finance and Russian studies at Columbia University and then later a JD from Fordham University Law School. He is the president of Falcon Management, which he himself founded in 1991. At Yale, Mr.Leitner sits on the President’s Council on International Activities, and formerly served in the Yale Investment Office. In 2010, he received the Yale Medal for his outstanding service to the Association of Yale Alumni. Mr. Leitner’s volunteer service to Yale has extended across various disciplines, from astronomy and engineering to international studies. In recent years, he established a program in international and comparative political economy at the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, endowed a professorship in international studies, and supported a number of international summer internships. Mr. Leitner is a Fellow of Pierson College, and his three children – Allegra (Class of 2006), Evan (Class of 2009), and Olivia (Class of 2013) – are all graduates of Pierson, and so his connection to the college is closely felt and enduring.
