Top Players

Have you got what it takes to be a top PIMP (Pierson Intramural Player)? These people do.

PIMPs of the Season

Fall, 2011: Indu Chelliah &  Nathan Sitaraman

Indu induces insomnia because I can’t stop thinking about her killer defense, which was crucial in making women’s soccer the highest scoring team on Pierson in the fall. Indu also rocked it with a racquet in tennis. Indu, we’ll miss you when you go abroad next semester.

Nate, why are you so great? In addition to Nate being a knock-out nubile knight in cross country and golf, Nate was also a consistent force during men’s soccer and football in the fall. Seriously though, most people can’t even do a whole cross country race or even have a golf swing and Nate just owns.

P.I.M.P. of the Week

Week ending 4/15/12: Caleb Small
Caleb’s fly, and so do his frisbees. His reign of Frisbee supremacy and IM participation could not be stopped by rain or wind or feeble defenders last week. And for that, Caleb, we present you with PIMP of the week honors. #CalebSmallComingUpBig.

Week ending 4/8/12: Alina Lau
Alina is one bad-ass badminton captain. She even uses a google-doc to keep track of who is coming to games. Combining her superior technology with a contagious enthusiasm and steady leadership on the court, Alina has Pierson’s Badminton team right where it belongs- on top.

Week ending 4/1/12: Kasia Hitczenko and Anna Yang
The PIMP secretaries love Step Up, Channing Tatum is sooo hawt! But Kasia and Anna could show even Channing a thing or two about stepping up. The co-PIMPS of the week answered the call of Pierson Civic Duty and not only came out to soccer and softball games Pierson might otherwise have had to forfeit, but were big-time contributors to Pierson’s efforts with skilled play. Keep up the admirable work Kasia and Anna!

Week ending 3/25/12: Shannon Farrell
The Angels got all the attention for adding a new All-Star in Albert Pujols, but I think Pierson got luckier in adding SoftbAllStar Shannon Farrell to the IM team. After an exciting first game, we’re excited for Shannon and the talented IM softball team. Keep up the good work Shannon!

Week ending 3/3/12: Ben Burke, Michael Sherman, Kyle White
The Captains of our championship winning teams: Ben and Michael for Hockey, Kyle for A-Hoops. ‘Nuff said.

Week ending 2/25/12: Annie Keating and Katie Fein
I’m sure our third-place winning Iron Chef team could make squash look pretty purrrty, and so do our two PIMPs of the Week. Annie and Katie have paced Pierson’s formidable women’s squash squad, and their strong play and consistent presence have been a boon to PIMP pride and our Tyng Cup standings. Annie and Katie, you’re our co-PIMPs of the week!
Week ending 2/18/12: Kevin Lindsay-Rivera
KLR. Remember the name. He made his B-Hoops debut and played with big cahones against JE, taking a couple of hard charges. KLR, you’re the man of the week, big guy.

Week ending 2/11/12:Maddie Marino
Talk about things going swimmingly. Maddie’s impressive individual performances helped pace Pierson as it advanced to the Finals Swim Meet. All I can say is: swag. Keep up the good work Maddie!

Week ending 1/28/12: Maureen O’Hanlon
There’s LeBron. There’s Messi. But if you want to see a real baller, you should check out Maureen at one of the Co-Ed Water Polo Games. Maureen, keep up the awesomeness!

Week ending 1/21/12: Ben Burke and Adam George
Ben Burke is a tenacious contributor to Pierson’s forceful Water Polo team. And if the in-door pool ever freezes over? Even better! Ben is an absolute phenom at Ice Hockey. Keep up the good work, Ben!… O captain, my captain! Froco Adam George bowls us over with his enthusiasm and talent as captain of Pierson’s Bowling squad, consistently putting up scores I only ever reach on iPhone bowling.

Week ending 12/10/11: Gianna Fote
Most of you know that Gianna is a beast on the soccer field, but now we all know that Gianna is a beast on the basketball court. First game of the season, Gianna is just one-on-one with a Dport defender. She just slides past the defender with some fancy footwork and shoots. Two point. Easy.

Week ending 12/3/11: Tyler Smith
I forgot to do PIMP of the week last week, but we did not forget Tyler’s towering performance in B-Hoops last week. Rumor has it that Tyler was going to be on every NBA team and the NBA would be named the Tyler Basketball Association. Then the lockout ended, and money won over talent.

Week ending 11/26/11: Frieda Fein
Frieda, Frieda, why you so fine, Fein? Frieda has been an integral part of Pierson intramurals ever since she stopped into L-Dub. This year, she captained women’s soccer to be the most Tyng-point-winning Pierson team in the fall season. And that’s climbing up from a 0-point season last year. Frieda Fein is fantastic and fabulous and f-amazing.

Week ending 11/5/11: Kelsey Stimple
Kelsey, like a superhero, assumed the role of captain of tennis when others had fallen prey to the clutches of work and lab. Along with great power comes great responsibility. And responsibility there was when the fate of the PC v BK game came down to Kelsey’s match. Her racquet swooped down with the spirit of the Hulk and she became Wonder Woman, winning the game for Pierson.

Week ending 10/29/11: Courtney Kaplan
We got another ping pong baller as PIMP of the week. Courtney came and played her first ping pong match for the PIMPs ever and WON. We like PIMPs that win. We like Courtney.

Week ending 10/22/11: Folake Ogunmola
The lights dim. It’s just paddle versus paddle. A white smooth ball smashes from one side to the other. Sweat beads drip down on all the spectators’ faces. It is the last game, and Folake has the chance to save Pierson from a devastating loss. BOOM. Folake has saved Pierson from the TD tellytubbies. Look up the definition of ping pong champ–it’s just a picture of Folake.

Week ending 10/15/11: Nate Sitaraman
Nate has been a driving force for golf (driving, get it?) a consistent player for football and soccer and what not. He gets this week’s PIMP of the Week shoutout for flying like the wind at the cross country divisionals, finishing an amazing fifth in a very fast field.

Week ending 10/8/11: Rhia Catapano
Rhia is an awesome froco and an awesome PIMP. You would think those would be contradictory terms but NOPE! Rhia has consistently proven her Pierson loyalty over and over again. Rhia with a football is a wonder woman on the way to a touchdown.

Week ending 10/1/11: Rebecca Miller
Rebecca is like a bullet on the field. A happy, aggressive bullet that will knock you out in coed football and will not rust in the rain as it smacks the volleyball. Gun control laws can’t stop this multi-sport bullet.

Week ending 9/24/11: Blake Woodworth
Blake has three words hidden in his name: lake, wood, and worth. You know what’s not hidden? His pride for Pierson. He’s a pro at soccer, football, and whatever the hell we need him for. Quarterback, running back, you ain’t going to want your money back after the Blake show.

Week ending 9/17/11: Jeremy Hutton
Jeremy has been a driving force in men’s football, coed football, and men’s soccer. All in one week. Phew!

Week ending 9/10/11: Valeria Faggioni
Valeria is an exchange student from Mexico who came to America solely for the purpose of blessing the Pierson women’s soccer team. She played goalie for the first half (and didn’t let in ANY goals) and then did an impressive job knocking down those JE-BR girls on the pitch. You’re a natural PIMP, Valeria.
