Lynn Hancock

Hi! I am a 4^th year candidate in the Department of Political Science and am excited to be joining Pierson as a new Graduate Affiliate. I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia where I developed a passion for the great outdoors. Rain or shine you will find me climbing mountains, kayaking over waterfalls, shooting my traditional recurve bow, or swimming in the Pacific Ocean.

In 2006 I was recruited to UCLA as a D1 student-athlete (Rowing). Between 2006 and 2016 I picked up a BA in Political Science (UCLA), a few years of field experience studying political and economic development in south-eastern Africa, and an MA in Political Science (University of British Columbia).

I took about a year away from Yale in 2015 to pursue my goal of competing for the Canadian National Rowing Team. Now I’m back on campus to finish my research on the responsiveness of legislators to different types of constituents. I look forward to meeting you all!
