Marjan Firouzgar
Marjan was born in Los Angeles but grew up overseas, living in Oman, Mali, and Switzerland. She then came back to the U.S. to attend Yale for college; during this time she was a member of Pierson. After graduating in 2009, she spent a year working for a microfinance company in India, and another year back in Switzerland tutoring high school students in math and physics. She recently returned to Yale for a second round, this time to pursue a three-year JD/MBA.
Marjan had an amazing time as an undergraduate in Pierson College, and is excited to have the opportunity to contribute back to such a wonderful community as a Graduate Affiliate. She loves just about every outdoor activity, including hiking, cycling, climbing, sailing, kayaking, surfing, paragliding, going to water/amusement parks, etc., and hopes to organize a few of these excursions for Pierson students. She also enjoys live music, so hit her up if you’d like her to arrange a trip to a concert.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll probably catch Marjan grabbing dinner/brunch in the dining hall, dozing off over her books in the library, procrastinating at 2 a.m. in the buttery, and hopefully participating in the occasional PCC/PSAC meeting or intramural sport.
Feel free to approach her to chat about pretty much anything- although you will probably find her especially helpful if you are thinking about working/traveling abroad, going to law/business school, or are confused about what you’re doing with your life. She has plenty of experience in those departments!
